Collaborative Bibliography on Heralds on Zotero
In the context of the planned workshop and book project “The History of Heralds in Europe (12th-18th c.)“, we have opened a group on Zotero which is a free, easy-to-use tool, offering the opportunity to share and work on a collaborative bibliography.
Usually, it takes quite some time to establish a profound bibliography on such a topic as the history of heralds, and often it is also difficult to collect the scattered material. With Zotero, we can share already existing resources and work together on a common bibliography, which – so we hope – will benefit all participating individual projects.
This also offers the possibility to collaborate beyond the actual workshop in Münster.
To start with, we have integrated the bibliographical database of our former research project “Les hérauts d’armes dans les sources bourguignonnes” which was carried out at the German Historical Institute Paris. Thus, more than 500 bibliographical notes on books and articles dealing with heralds and their office from the 12th to the 18th century are now available to all participants of the upcoming workshop and to everyone who is interested in the topic.
Everyone is very welcome to help developing this tool and to make it more useful by adding further material to it, by tagging the different notes with keywords, and by adding short abstracts and comments to the different titles. All you need is to register at Zotero and to join the group, what is quite easy to do. Just send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope this will show itself helpful for the preparation of our common workshop and contribute to foster the research on our common research topic.
